I love beautiful things! Whether it is pretty fabric, beautiful flowers, butterflies, mountain-top views, poetry or smiley faces… in fact the list goes on and on. I could fill my whole seed for today just listing beautiful created things and moments that I enjoy and appreciate. Beauty captures something of our hearts and impacts us deeply. I believe it reminds us, on a conscious or subconscious level, of the need we all have to worship our amazing Creator Father God. Beauty is all around us crying out to be appreciated and glory given to the maker. Beauty, designed by God, is within each one of us too, also crying out to be expressed and valued and appreciated.
We are all made and created and designed by an amazingly beautiful Creator God. A Father God who through grace sees beyond the muck and the dirt, and sees the beauty of the children He knit together and designed. His beautiful children. His beautiful you and me! Maybe today we should all take that moment to meditate on the beauty of Jesus. Who He is and what He has done in our lives. It’s His beauty that draws us to His side. It’s His beauty that motivates desire within us to run from the dirt and grime that can entangle us. It’s His beauty that speaks life and hope into our own spirits, because, after all - you and I are made in His image!
Jesus, what a beautiful name
Son of God, Son of Man
Lamb that was slain
Joy and peace, strength and hope
Grace that blows all fears away
Jesus, what a beautiful name
Jesus, what a beautiful name
Truth revealed, my future sealed
Healed my pain
Love and freedom, life and warmth
Grace that blows all fears away
Jesus, what a beautiful name
Jesus, what a beautiful name
Rescued my soul, my stronghold
Lifts me from shame
Forgiveness, security, power and love
Grace that blows all fear away
Jesus, what a beautiful name (song by Tanya Riches)
"One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple."
Psalm 27:4, NIV
